At today’s meeting, Bill Mealia presented our Club’s donation to Jan Lilien, Executive Director of the YWCA of Union County.

The funds will be used to assist in the YWCA’s mission to empower survivors of domestic violence to become safe and free from abuse.

Our program was presented by Ken Ward, President of the Historical Society; Elizabeth.

Ken’s talk was on the economic bartering system of Colonial Elizabeth which was “the” economic system at that time.

And we thought a “cashless society” was something new?

Ken was joined by Zaneb Gohar, an Intern at the Historical Society and a student at Kean University.
