Thanks to Past District Governor Charlie Minton, we received our Club 100th Anniversary patch which will be added to our Club banner.

President Art Lobdell, and Gala Chairpersons Bill Mealia and Cara Pavia look on approvingly.

Our guests speakers were Patrick Fountain EEO/AA Officer and Robert Eppenstein, Criminal Division Manager from the New Jersey Judiciary Department.

Their topic was Criminal Justice Reform.
On January 1, 2017, the State of New Jersey moved from a system that relied principally on setting monetary bail as a condition of release to a risk based system that is more objective, promotes public safety and is fairer to defendants because it is unrelated to their ability to pay monetary bail.

Our Dictionary Project Leader , Rich Esperon, greeted Vincent Spada and Alicia Motta of Spencer Savings.

Spencer’s generous donation helped make it possible for us to provide dictionaries to 2,400 local Third Grade students.

Thank you Spencer Savings!!

Our guest speaker today was Cecilia Ercolino.

Cecilia is the President of Italian Products USA Inc. which recently relocated to Elizabeth.

The Company has enjoyed tremendous growth and has just added wines to their list of products.

The highlight of the meeting? Cecilia brought samples of pastas, and other delicious items for us to try at home.

She also let us know that she will participate in this year’s Taste of Elizabeth (October 15th)

Program Chairperson Phyllis Reich and President Art Lobdell thank Cecilia for this tasty program. We hope to see her again very soon!

We put on our travelling shoes (or skates) today as we held our meeting at the new Warinanco Sports Arena.

Rotarian Phyllis Reich made the meeting arrangements along with Freeholder Chairman Sergio Granados who was our special guest speaker.

Freeholder Granados updated us on his “Moving Union County Forward” initiative, a comprehensive, multi-faceted County improvement plan.

Freeholder Chairman Granados was thanked by Phyllis Reich, President Art Lobdell and President Elect Syed E. Naqvi.

Our own hockey star, Jonathan Burt, was ready to lace ‘em up and scrimmage with the City’s Police and Fire Department’s hockey teams.

It was a fun day at a beautiful new sports center.

Lisa Raudelunas Hiscano and guest Dr. Lester Sandres Rápalo, Dean of Social Sciences, Business & History, Interim Dean of Elizabeth Campus

A nice meeting on a snowy wet Wednesday as we welcomed visitors from the Union Rotary Club.

Our program was presented by Jill Dispenza, Carlos Herrera and Margaret Ames from Lifelong Elizabeth, a program sponsored by Jewish Family Services of Central Jersey.

Besides informing us about all their programs, they brought their senior citizen safety vests which were made possible through a donation from our Club.

Jim Duffy and Marie Krupinski model the vests which bear our logo.
