Our program today was presented by Keith Dent, Senior Manager for Regional Programs for Rising Tide Capital.

Rising Tide Capital assists struggling entrepreneurs and communities to build strong businesses that transform lives and create vibrant, sustainable neighborhoods.

Rising Tide has helped 1800 students learn how to start or grow businesses through their 12 week course, offering hands- on training in the fundamentals of starting and growing a business.

Keith is welcomed by President Art Lobdell and Union County YWCA Executive Director, Jan Lilien.

Our guest speaker today was Briana Smith, STEP Job Specialist for the YWCA, Union County.

The STEP Program helps victims of domestic violence return to the workforce.

Briana was welcomed by acting president, Maria Montezuma and YWCA Executive Director, Jan Lilien.

President Art Lobdell presents our Clubs donation to Janet Sarkos of Caring Contact, a listening community.

The funds will be used for their "Learning to Save Lives" training program for people becoming crisis line volunteers.

Our program was presented by Michael Johnson of the YMCA . Michael's topic was the Shaping Elizabeth, Community Health Initiative.

The mission is to improve the health and well being of the residents of the City of Elizabeth by creating sustainable change to policies and environment with stratagies to close the "Health Equity" gap that support improved health, nutrition and physical activity for all.

Vocational Service Chairperson Jan Lilien conducted new member interviews today with Phyllis Reich, Ildefonso "Chito" Del Rosario and Syed Ehtesham Naqvi.

A wonderful group of people with diverse backgrounds, careers and interests. Our Club is very fortunate to have them as members.

Karen Kontos was also fortunate , as she found the "lucky ace" !!
